Calvin found a juicer for me off of Craigslist last week for $15! I had been wishing for one for quite awhile, but definitely didn’t want to pay full price for one. I had been stalking Craigslist, waiting for one that was located near us, for a low price. Finally, a good one appeared!
I was so excited when he brought it home, and we got to try it out for the first time! We jumped right in to making a concoction of fruits and vegetables, and then mixed it with some organic teas. (Forget Odwalla!)
Of course, once we make our fresh juice, there is pulp left behind. Not wanting to waste it, I decided to mix it in with baby food. Since Gen is getting older, I’m not making the large batches of baby food like I used to. (She can now eat so much of what we eat.) But some hard-to-chew/swallow fruits and veggies still present a difficulty for her, so we steam, mash, etc. I found that the puree from the juicer is perfect to mix with her morning cereal, or mixing with yogurt. She loves it, and it’s basically “free” baby food! (Carrot/Raspberry/Orange multigrain cereal, anyone?) It works for me!
