For the past day and a half, I’ve been cranking out the baskets of laundry, trying to get caught up from the week’s worth of accumulation from our trip (bedding, clothing, towels, etc). (However, I have a sneaking suspicion that the articles of clothing in the laundry basket actually multiply overnight…)
After a week of playing/working hard in the woods, we brought home our share of wildlife; including one large spider and a mouse! The spider was effectively squashed, as it lurked in the laundry pile, and a trap has been set for the deceptively cute rodent residing in our car.
We arrived home with several bags of laundry, and the washer/dryer have been going ever since. To add to the fun, Gen has needed 2 bed changes/crib scrubbing in the past 12 hours (and a couple baths)- she’s quite adept at removing her diaper. Super. I’m sure thankful that the water bill is covered with our rent!
Calvin was great at lending a hand at folding laundry when he had a chance yesterday, since he was home. Before we left, I had done 3 loads of laundry (including 1 load of diapers), but didn’t get a chance to fold more than 1 load.
I just love the smell/feel of clean laundry, though! It is so satisfying to effectively banish that dirt, and give my family clean clothes to wear. (A dash of lavender essential oil in the load, or a lavender sachet in the dryer is especially nice.)
Maybe eventually I’ll get those suitcases unpacked…. (Gen has a great start on that task; she thinks we’ve just provided her with a fabulous new assortment of dress-up clothes!) Excuse me while I go rescue my underwear…
