This past week for Advent, we’ve been reading/singing through a fun book from the library: The 25 Days of Christmas
(which is apparently out of print- sorry). This week I have also been mulling over the importance of showing love to others; especially those who are especially challenging to love (such as those who are unkind to us).
I was pleased to be reminded through this Advent book, how we- along with the angels- are messengers of God’s love. In choosing to show love and kindness to others, we are giving praise to God, and being messengers of His love.
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9
This Christmas season (as well as every day of the year!), that is what I want to be about. As I allow God to sanctify and mold me, I want to reflect His message. Just as the star that shone so brightly those years ago, might I also point others to Him?
