Living A Simple Life-Part 43 (Important Words)

Simple Thurs

During my time of Bible study this week, this passage jumped out at me:
“My son, if you will receive my words
And treasure my commandments within you,
Make your ear attentive to wisdom,
Incline your heart to understanding;
For if you cry for discernment,
Lift your voice for understanding;
If you seek her as silver
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will discern the fear of the Lord
And discover the knowledge of God.”
Proverbs 2:1-5
It is such a blessing to know that whatever season of life we are in, God faithfully keeps His word. He loves to hear His children pray for His wisdom and direction!  Whether it is parenting a toddler, encouraging a spouse, ministering to a friend, or making a life decision, He is there.
In a world where advice abounds- with new “self-help” books constantly published, family and friends with well-meaning comments, media with urgent messages- it can easily distract us from the most important words of all.  (The discernment this passage speaks of is especially important in this regard!)
Each day brings me new situations, sending me to our Father in prayer.  May you spend some time with Him today, dear friend.  What is on your heart today?
