Living A Simple Life-Part 66: Cherry Delights

Throughout this pregnancy, one of my recurring food cravings has been cherries. Given the price of cherries- even in season- I haven’t indulged in this summer pleasure very often.

But a few weeks ago, a friend offered to share some of her abundance of cherries from a local farm. (I hadn’t mentioned my “cherry craving” to her, so she had no way of knowing.)

I joyfully accepted her offer, and we were so blessed when she showed up on our doorstep with a box of jewel-toned cherries! We haven’t been able to stock up on summer fruits as much as we did last summer, so this was an extra-special blessing.

I enjoyed juicy handfuls of them, and I also canned several jars to stock our pantry. What a delight! I canned these sweet cherries without sugar, so they will be a healthy treat in the wintertime.

It’s so fun when God blesses us with delicious, simple pleasures (and good friends!)
