Well, a new year in a new place. God has poured His blessings upon us as we’ve begun establishing our home amid family and friends. (It’s been like “coming back home,” actually; not really like we’re “newcomers.”) We have felt such joy surrounding us, as we’ve jumped into new discipleship and ministry relationships, slowly worked on decorating our rental home while offering hospitality, and excitedly watched our little ones grow and adjust to our new life while spending lots of quality time with their grandparents.
We’ve had an unseasonably warm winter this year, and we are already beginning to see flowers blooming, bulbs popping up, and trees budding. We awake each morning to the sound of birdsong (well, a baby hollering, first, and then I listen to the birds’ chatter as I nurse him).
I’ve gradually added the pleasure of sewing back into my days. I completed a small “pram quilt” for a baby shower gift, and I’m now working on finishing a decorating project for Gen’s room. (I’ll share it with you soon!) I believe I’ve finally tracked down our camera cord to download photos onto our computer (from the past few months!), so hopefully I’ll be able to show you some photo updates soon.
God has continued to minister to our hearts in new ways, and Calvin and I have each been able to delve into deeper biblical studies these days. I am especially enjoying The Excellent Wife by Martha Peace. I’ve also been referring back to an old favorite, Kitchen Table Counseling
by Muriel Cook these days, too!
Thanks for your patience, friends, as I took a break from blogging! I’ll be gradually developing a new schedule, but I suspect that my posting will still be fairly infrequent at this point. (Keep a subscription to my blog posts, so that you know when a new one comes up!)
Blessings to you.

So glad to hear from you and know you all are well. I look forward to hearing more about your new home and new projects!

I was so happy to see your post listing in my email. It's funny how we can miss our "blog friends" even though we have never met! I truly respect you putting your precious family and the Lord first. My youngest is 15…these years have gone so fast. Enjoy them!
Another blog I subscribe to is run by a new 2nd time mom too, and she has also slowed down the postings. Strangley, I feel relieved, as daily blogs mean lots of info to digest & use. I struggle with guilt for not being as organized/godly/frugal/content (the list goes on), as I feel I should/could be. With less posts coming each day, I feel free to focus on a few things w/o being overwhelmed. I sure hope this makes sense! Anyway, you are a blessing to this middle-aged wife & mom. God bless you!

It was so good to hear from you! I have missed reading your posts. Glad you are getting situated and I am looking forward to hearing more. You have been a wonderful inspiration to me and I wanted to let you know that after I started following your blog, I rededicated my life to Christ after years of walking my own way. I thank you for that gift.

I've wondered if The Excellent Wife was good. May have to check it out, and thanks for the suggestion on Kitchen Table Counseling. Sounds intriguing! Happy Spring!!!!
