Headbands are one of my favorite hair accessories. Probably because when they fit just right, they are super practical and comfortable for keeping hair out of your face all day long!
After a lot of trial and error in headband-making, I think I’ve found my favorite style. It fits great, it’s comfortable and it doesn’t slip. Plus, it is easily made reversible! So go choose two of your favorite fabrics and let’s get started.
(Click on the photos to view them in a larger format.)
The dimensions I’ve used are a good starting place and have fit every person I asked to try one on! The easiest adjustment to make will be to shorten or lengthen your elastic (I used 6 inch pieces of elastic) as needed. For tiny heads you might want to shorten the pieces of fabric.
I have found these to be the only types of headbands my girls will leave on all day; I think they forget they’re wearing anything on their head!
I have these three headbands below to give away!
Enter the giveaway by leaving a comment on this post. Giveaway closes at the end of the day Wednesday 3/7/12. Three winners will be chosen using random.org and notified by e-mail.
Happy Sewing!
