Rhythm of Rest :: A Free Gift

I have loved Daniele’s writings at Domestic Serenity over the past couple years (including her contributions here at Frugal Granola), and invited her to share this special gift with you today in the following guest post. There are no affiliate links. It’s just for you, dear reader. Enjoy!

As Moms (or Dads) of full and busy households…

…there’s an extravagant gift available to us that we don’t often take advantage of — the gift of REST.

Designed by God to be of benefit to our minds and bodies, embracing the gift of rest really comes down to stewardship. Telling our energy and focus where to go, what to do. Pausing for the sake of giving ourselves a break, taking time for something other than work.

But, how often do we really practice this? How often do we wait until complete exhaustion or near burnout to stop for just a minute?

Today, I invite you to consider a different way — to honor the rhythm of rest.

Rest in our lives has to be a priority and a responsibility — we choose this gift or not, and therefore receive the blessings of rest or not. I’m incredibly excited to offer some thoughts on rest to encourage you in the journey. A message near to my heart, words I attempt to faithfully practice and live with grace, I write about it all in my {currently free!} ebook ‘Honoring the Rhythm of Rest’.

Honoring the Rhythm of Rest will encourage and equip you:
  • to understand the meaning of true rest
  • to ask of yourself :: am I living intense, or intentional?
  • to counteract the myth of ‘doing it all’
  • to consider 3 intentional ways to practice rest
  • to journey back from burnout

Full of helpful info, thoughtful questions, and space to journal and write, Rhythm of Rest is a 30+ pages e-book sure to inspire. I invite you to receive your free copy — to pause for a little while to read, and to consider how you might further embrace and practice this gift of REST.

Grace in your journey…
