Super-Easy Strawberry Kiwi Sorbet


On a hot summer’s evening, an icy dessert is always a welcome treat. When you have surprise guests, or don’t have much fresh produce on hand, working from a freezer stash is a nice frugal option!

I usually stock my freezer with berries in the summer, and they are perfect for this quick, homemade sorbet!

Super-Easy Strawberry Kiwi Sorbet

3 Cups frozen, whole Strawberries
3 Kiwi (peeled)
a few Tbls. Coconut Milk (or other dairy-free milk)
drizzle of Honey or Agave (optional)

In a food processor, add strawberries and kiwi. Blend well. Once the mixture gets thick, gradually pour in a bit of the milk to thin the mixture, and scrape the sides. Continue blending (add more more milk as needed), until the fruit is completely puréed, and is a smooth texture. Taste, and if desired, sweeten to taste, such as with a drizzle of honey.

If you don’t have a food processor, you might be able to make this in a blender. You will probably need to make it in smaller batches, and may need to add more milk. If it becomes too liquidy, refreeze it in an ice cream maker, until it reaches sorbet consistency.

Serve immediately, before it melts. If you have any leftovers, put it into popsicle molds and freeze for later.

Makes about 4 Servings
