A Missions Night

This past week, we had the privilege of hosting a missionary in our home. It was a joy to hear from her heart, full of prayers and experiences. She spoke of plans and dreams, and reminded us of our own, buried deep in our hearts, as well.

A Gathering of Women

Amid a chorus of memories, fragrant hand-picked lilies the color of sunrise, and the glow of sunshine, I drove across our valley on Monday. I stopped along the way to gather up dear daughters of our King; their decades of seasoned wisdom pouring forth with their words and prayers.

Savoring Fall

We’ve been savoring the start of fall here lately, and I thought I’d share a glimpse with you of some of the delights I’ve been savoring lately:

Children in footed pajamas, snuggled up in a homemade quilt for story & worship time. Sauteed Onions & Apples (with a fresh sweet onion from Calvin’s aunt,

Pursuing a Mentoring Relationship

I believe mentorship/discipleship relationships are so important. For young women and new mothers, it is so crucial to have the support of grandma/older women to guide, encourage, and equip them during what can be a very challenging season of life.

We feel as though His hand literally whisked us up here, and placed us in motion. As we desire to be a vessel for His Spirit,

Newness

Well, a new year in a new place. God has poured His blessings upon us as we’ve begun establishing our home amid family and friends. (It’s been like “coming back home,” actually; not really like we’re “newcomers.”) We have felt such joy surrounding us, as we’ve jumped into new discipleship and ministry relationships, slowly worked

Living A Simple Life-Part 81: A Dream & An Answer

As God has shaped and molded our family over the years, He has impressed upon our hearts of the importance of family. We’ve spent the past few years transitioning from a very “independent” lifestyle, to a new set of values. Over and over again, we’ve discussed our dream of allowing our children to know their

Living A Simple Life-Part 78: Holiday Preparations

We love celebrating holidays rather simply in our family. But we fully enjoy the anticipation and preparation for the special days! Together, as a family, over the past few weeks, we’ve begun making homemade gifts for birthdays and Christmas, as well as stocking the kitchen with staples for Thanksgiving dinner.

Gen’s birthday is coming up
